My name is Lisa Carey. I have a BSc degree in Physical Education with Biology from Dublin City University. I have taught Biology and Science for the past 8 years. I spent three years teaching both subjects in the Middle East in both an International and a public education school. Here in Ireland, I have been teaching Higher level biology to Leaving Cert level in a secondary school for the past 4 years. I have also taught with CTYI (Centre for Talented Youth Ireland) instructing their ‘cutting edge science’ and ‘medical school prep’ courses.
My aim is to enable you, the student, to perform to your full potential when it comes to class tests and the Leaving Certificate Exam. Exam focus and tips are at the forefront of my biology course. I will also offer advice on which science-related courses will be most suited to you at 3rd level. My classes are interactive, keeping students engaged throughout. There will be a specific focus on each section of the Leaving Certificate paper, both long and short questions with a breakdown of the experiments associated with each topic.
